Things To Do When You’re Sad

From time to time we all get sad. Sometimes, it is arduous to cope up with sadness. It depends upon the intensity of the sadness. If the sadness is because of a minute reason you could emerge facilely. But if it is too excruciating then it is sometimes difficult to handle and the person goes into depression which is very inimical.

There could be many reasons of sadness. It is absolutely okay to feel sad or dispirited at a certain time of the day. Recollect that whatever you are feeling will eventually pass. Nothing remains aeonianly. Sadness is as much part of the life as ecstasy is. There are many benefits of being sad or being in a deplorable mood. Remember that the purpose of life is not happiness.Being a sensitive person, it was very difficult for me to deal with dolefulness which was turning into a melancholy and becoming arduous with passing time.Honestly, neither friends nor motivational books helped me to emerge from it. These are ephemeral means to pacify yourself.

I’m going to share my tried and true experience on how to deal with sadness. How it could change your life and turn into a renewed energy.

#1. Write down your worries in a diary (Highly recommended)

Diary writing is one of the best thing one can do. It makes you a better person. You ameliorate a lot when you start writing. You learn to deal with situations on your own. Once it became your habit, you start relishing your time with your diary and you don’t feel the desideratum of anything else. You become your own master of everything. Philosophically, when you start enjoying yourself, thing starts falling into place. You should never depend on anyone but yourself.

The best way to avoid disappointments is to not expect anything from anyone. Over a course of time, you will realize that you are your own boss. Have a separate place for diary inditing. If you are comfortable inditing in your bed, then go ahead. That’s the best place. Just before you get off to slumber, do this. It will take out all the stress and get you a better slumber. If not, then fine-tune a place or a table and adorn it with some flowers or arts, beautiful sceneries and coffee mugs. Believe me, it will be very efficacious in emerging from sadness and after some time it will become a happiness.

#2. Work on your side hobby

Except few everyone has a hobby.  If you have not worked on your hobby in a while, then it’s a time work on it now. See your hobby as your stress buster. It indeed is. If you’re genuinely zealous about your hobby you will definitely find happiness in  it. When you actually start working on your hobby you find yourself more energetic. Never forget that you have the control of your own emotions.

Sometimes, hobby becomes a vocation if you are really ardent about it. If your sadness is because of your career then it’s high time to transmute it. Turn your hobby into a profession. Once it became your profession, you would find ecstasy in virtually everything. You would feel more independent and free. You will realize the paramountcy of your self worth. Eventually, you will get the answer to your questions by yourself.Once you start practicing these, you will realize that you are becoming a vigorous person.

#3. It’s time for a new hobby

If you are not getting any interest in your hobby and finding it boring then it’s time for a new hobby. Develop a hobby which gives bliss to you. Hobbies can give greater happiness to you. If you are not able to find bliss in anything then you should sit tranquilly, have a deep thinking and decide what could make you blissful. Trust me, it is only you who could console yourself in a way nobody else could. Because, it is you who knows the root cause of the quandary or the reason for the woefulness.

Do not depend on anybody for anything. First, endeavour to decipher everything by yourself. You will definitely ascertain the solution by yourself. Believe in your conviction. Do what you feel is right. So, developing an incipient hobby will be predicated on your conviction. Make your incipient hobby a vocation. Ask a question from yourself ‘Are you living the life you really want or you are just surviving?’ Find the answer first.

A transmutation can transmute your situation additionally. So, transmute your hobby if your subsisting hobby is not exhilarating you anymore

.#4. It is time for a change

Change is very consequential in your life. Always be open to accept the change. Because, it is the change that makes you ecstatic or woeful. Remember, nothing is same always. Nothing is sempiternal. So, the sadness could be because of many reasons, it could be because of change in someone’s nature or change in comportment of a special friend. Of course, it affects our lives.

We do feel sad or get hurt and at times it is very arduous to accept the transmutation. But, the question is ‘What’s Next?’It is never a good conception to remain in the same condition for a longer period of time. We should always move on and let go of something we can’t control or change. Become your own best friend. Love yourself.

After all, you are special.The best way to deal change is to change yourself. Acknowledge the change. It had to happen so it happened. Transmuting your posture towards the transmutation is the best change one can do. Believe me, this change will definitely change your situation and bring you a kind of satisfaction.

For example; If someone ignores you and you are feeling sad about it, you should just change your direction and do your work. The more you think about it, the more you try to get the attention of the person ignoring you, the more sad you will become. But, when you just turn your face away and find yourself a better work to do, you will definitely feel better. Remember, nothing is permanent, things will definitely change. At some point, you have to realize that some people can’t stay in your life forever.

#5. Yoga & Meditation

No medicine or treatment has any sempiternal solution for your noetic health. Medicine is an ephemeral solution. But, yoga and meditation have a perpetual solution for all your problems. If you are strong mentally, your body reacts differently to other problems. You will not feel weak physically if you are strong mentally. When I was depressed in 2009, doctors were not able to figure out the reason of my anxiety. Some doctors said, my depression is because I’m worried about my 10th result. Some said it is because of my other minuscule health issues.

Unfortunately, I did not get to visit any counselor because doctors satisfied my parents saying that it is because of teenage and hormonal changes.I was getting more anxious because nobody was understanding my problem. I had something in my head, which I could not share with anybody and I didn’t know what to say and share with my parents. I could definitely share with a counselor if i had chance. But, sadly I had no choice but to keep within myself and die every moment. One day my father asked me to join him during yoga and follow what he does.

I commenced practicing yoga. My depression didn’t go away thoroughly, but it did avail. I commenced getting good sleep and appetite. A good sleep is very consequential to feel good throughout the day.

One fine morning, I culminated yoga, picked up the newspaper went to the balcony and started turning the pages. While turning the pages of the newspaper, I saw an article which was covering the whole page of the newspaper. There was a nice image and greenery. It magnetized me. The article was about meditation. I read the whole article and felt quite slaked after reading. I felt the article was beautifully written and engrossing. I read the reasons that cause depression and how it can be treated with meditation. I just commenced following the same. I was not ruminating customarily, but I was following many other things that would avail to emerge from depression and melancholy. One of them was writing diary. Meditation availed me from day one. I meditated the same day. That day was unexpectedly beautiful. Everything was looking comely and I started feeling vigorous adscititiously.

When you decide to solve your own problems, your problems will no longer be a problem. I changed my thinking. I deciphered why that particular thing was perturbing me so much. When I contemplated it deeply, I deduced the reason. That’s when I understood that it is not something to get dispirited about. It transpires to all, the only distinction is how you react to a situation or take it. I decided to transmute the way I carry my quandaries.

Ever since then, I became a different person. Not too emotional anymore.In fact, People say that I have become unemotional. People who know me say that, I have become very tough. It is not facile to make me emotional anymore. And nothing affects me facilely. Moving on is not a tough thing for me now. I can move on from anything if I have decided. But taking the decision to move on takes time.I always think deeply and give some time to the situation to change. If it didn’t happen then I realize that it is time to change the direction.

Always remember that meaning matters more than happiness in life.Today, my sadness has turned into happiness because i change the way of life. I feel that I’m important and nobody has rights to play with me.Mumtaz Bano
